HC directive on PGMEE-2006
THE ALLAHABAD High Court directed the principal of Lala Lajpat Rai Medical College, Meerut and coordinator of UP Post- Graduate Medical Entrance Examination-2006 Usha Sharma to conduct counselling for this exam afresh in accordance with the revised schedule approved by the Supreme Court vide its order dated April 17.
THE ALLAHABAD High Court directed the principal of Lala Lajpat Rai Medical College, Meerut and coordinator of UP Post- Graduate Medical Entrance Examination-2006 Usha Sharma to conduct counselling for this exam afresh in accordance with the revised schedule approved by the Supreme Court vide its order dated April 17.
This order was passed by Justice Bharti Sapru on a writ petition filed by Ashish Shukla and seven others after hearing counsel for the petitioner Sadhna Upadhyaya and Sant Saran Upadhyaya.
Passing this order, Justice Sapru observed: “In view of the Supreme Court order dated April 17, there is no doubt in my mind that the revised time schedule is to be followed in respect of both the first round of counselling and second round of counselling.
The respondents will ensure that the SC order and the schedule appended thereto, shall be followed by them.’
The court said that the controversy in the present matter was settled by the SC which gave a revised time schedule to complete the admission process for the post-Graduate Medical Courses for 2006-2007.
Appointed: An advocate of the Allahabad High Court Shashi Kant Dwivedi has been appointed as Standing Counsel of UP Matsyajivi Sahkari Sangh Ltd, Lucknow.
Giving this information, president of UP Matsyajivi Sahkari Sangh Ltd Janardan Nishad said that Dwivedi would appear on behalf of the Sangh in the court proceedings.
