HC judge recuses from hearing plea on FIR against HPCA
Himachal Pradesh high court judge Rajiv Sharma on Tuesday recused himself from hearing a petition that has sought quashing of the FIR against the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) and its chief Anurag Thakur. Justice Sharma has recused himself on "personal grounds", saying that chief minister Virbhadra Singh, a respondent in the case, had been his client in the past.

Justice Sharma has recused himself on "personal grounds", saying that chief minister Virbhadra Singh, a respondent in the case, had been his client in the past.
The case that was listed for hearing on Tuesday has now been placed before acting chief justice Mansur Ahmad Mir, who will reassign the case to another judge.
Earlier, Sharma had also recused from the cases in which Virbhadra had filed a petition in which he had sought the quashing of the FIR registered against him during the previous BJP regime in the CD case. The trial court had later acquitted Virbhadra.
