In a special order to the staff of D Type Health Post in Sulemsarain, Dr Singh said all measles, chicken pox and viral fever patients should be identified and given proper treatment. The children in the five-km radius should be vaccinated against measles and given additional doses of Vitamin A, he directed. Besides, he asked the health staff to ensure that water should not accumulate in the area. "The residents should also be asked to keep their area clean," he said. Dr Singhavi has also written a letter to the nagar swasthya adhikari, asking him to ensure cleanliness in Preetam Nagar area. The CMO has also requested the GM Jal Sansthan to supply chlorinated water.

District Epidemic Cell in-charge Dr VK Mishra said the situation was under control in Preetam Nagar ward. "The residents may have fallen sick due to poor sanitary conditions," he said.
