Hearing of CID application in Halappa case adjourned to May 20

A local court today adjourned till May 20 hearing of an application by CID seeking permission to conduct DNA test and voice test on former Karnataka minister H Halappa, facing charges of rape and criminal intimidation.

A local court on Monday adjourned till May 20 hearing of an application by CID seeking permission to conduct DNA test and voice test on former Karnataka minister H Halappa, facing charges of rape and criminal intimidation.

Judicial Magistrate Ravikanth adjourned the hearing when the case came up before him.

Halappa is facing allegations of raping his friend's wife Chandravathi in November.

Chandravathi alleged that he had raped her in their house and later threatened her and her family.

Halappa, currently under judicial custody, has been undergoing treatment in a hospital in Bangalore.
