Colaba in south Mumbai recorded rainfall of 99 mm while Santacruz recorded an average rainfall of 53.2 mm in the last 24 hours, Met department sources said.

"The forecast for the next 24 hours is intermittent rains or thundershowers with a possibility of heavy downpour in the city and nearby suburbs. A fishermen's warning has also been issued," the sources said.

Meanwhile, Central Railway PRO AK Singh said there were minor disruptions in suburban rail services with trains running five to ten minutes behind schedules. "However, there is no water logging as yet and no trains have been cancelled."

Traffic moved at a slow pace in many parts of the city due to water logging even as people were seen taking shelter in shops and bus stops from the incessant rains.
