Heavy rains continue to lash Mumbai

Parts of the Mumbai are likely to receive heavy rains or thundershowers along with strong gusty winds in the next 24 hours, the department said.

Heavy rains continued to lash parts of the Mumbai this morning.

The Meteorological Department said its Colaba station in south Mumbai had recorded 48.6 mm of rainfall while its Santacruz station in north west Mumbai recorded 134.8 mm of rainfall over the last 24 hours till 0830 hours.

Parts of the city are likely to receive heavy rains or thundershowers along with strong gusty winds in the next 24 hours, the department said.

Suburban rail services on the Western and Harbour lines were running smoothly while trains on the Central line were delayed by about five to ten minutes due to heavy rains, railway officials said.

The department has also warned fishermen from venturing into the sea due to expected strong winds over the next 24 hours.
