According to www.pagesix.com, Fielding has earned around $32 million and is expected to give birth to her second child at 48.

Daily Mail columnist Alison Boshoff says: "Fielding has found it exasperating to be held up as the spokeswoman for a generation of feckless, hopeless women in search of love, slender thighs and inner poise."

She added that Fielding is dismissive of her character saying: "The truth is that the intention behind Bridget Jones was nothing more than to earn me some cash and make people laugh."
