BSF deputy inspector general of police Akeel Mohammed said two people were found throwing packets from the Pakistani side along the Ferozepur sector, about 250 kms from Chandigarh, late on Wednesday night. Two people were sitting on the Indian side to receive the packets.

The two on the Indian side were chased by the BSF guards but they managed to escape.

BSF officials said they did not fire as the area was close to the international border.
