The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) has taken the decision keeping in view the health of the yatris, which could be affected by consumption of such food.
SASB Chief executive officer Naveen Kumar Choudhary said, "All langar walls have been directed to provide food to yatris permitted by the board only."
He said the banned food included all fried food items, intoxicants and sweetmeats.
However, the yatris were allowed to take home-made food items provided they met desired standards set by the shrine board, he added.
