BJP leaders from Punjab on Sunday asked the Centre to grant Indian citizenship to Hindus who have migrated to the country from Pakistan in recent years.

The demand was made by a delegation of Punjab BJP leaders headed by Rajya Sabha member Avinash Khanna that called on Union Minister of State for External Affairs Preneet Kaur here.

Preneet has asked the delegation to prepare a list of such Hindu immigrants so that the matter could be taken up with the authorities concerned.
Khanna also urged the Union Minister to take up with Pakistani authorities the release of two persons from his constituency who have been languishing in Lahore's Kotlakhpat Jail since 2005 despite having completed their prison terms.
