Hindu pilgrims should also be given aid to visit shrines: BJP

Tamil Nadu government should expand the financial aid given for Christians and Muslims to Hindu pilgrims also, state unit of the BJP said on Saturday.

Tamil Nadu government should expand the financial aid given for Christians and Muslims to Hindu pilgrims also, state unit of the BJP said on Saturday.

BJP state president Pon.Radhakrishnan said as a secular government, the state should provide financial assistance to Hindus to visit holy sites such as Tirupati, Sabaramala, Palani, Kailash, Badrinath and Kedarnath among others.

In a statement here he referred to the aid being extended to Haj pilgirms and chief minister J Jayalalithaa's recent announcement on providing financial assistance to Christians visiting Jerusalem, and said such assistance should be made available to Hindu pilgrims also.
