Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman who recently won an Oscar for his performance in Capote is unhappy to be known as America's favourite character and still dreams of being a Hollywood idol.

According to Contactmusic, Hoffman is hoping that the world will see him in a different light now that he has won an award.

He says: "I find it lacking in imagination to just refer to me as fat. I've never been described in an attractive manner, but I hope that one day I will be."
