Holi clash: Demand for ex-gratia to kin of victim

VARIOUS ORGANISATIONS have demanded ex-gratia of Rs ten lakh to the deceased’s family of Sadiyapur in Bada Baghara locality. Sukuru, son of Surendra Bharatiya, was shot dead by a member of another community on the day of Holi.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Narendra Kumar Singh Gaur visited the locality and met the deceased’s family members. He lamented that despite being a major incident the district administration failed to nab the culprits yet. He asked CO Colonelganj to lodge an FIR against the culprits and provide proper security to the Dalit families living in the locality. He demanded a relief package of Rs 10 lakh for Sukuru’s family while Rs two lakh each for families of the injured.

A delegation of Bajrang Dal led by Pawan Srivastava also toured the affected locality. The members took stock of the situation and later described the incident as a result of Islamic terrorism. Pawan condemned the district administration of not handing over the deceased’s body to family members after post-mortem. The activists including Chandrma Singh Yadav, Alok Pandey, Sunil Jogi, Luxman Prajapati and Ramesh Rana warned the district administration to arrest the culprits with in 24 hours otherwise Bajrang Dal would launch an agitation in the city immediately.

Meanwhile, a meeting was organised by the Hindu Jagaran Manch Yuwawahini here on Saturday to condole the killing of Sukuru and held the district administration responsible for the incident. Addressing the meeting Neeraj Dwivedi said that Manch would take financial care of deceased’s family.
