Hometown celebrates Big B?s birthday
The larger than life image of Big B was captured by an artist on 64 canvases to make the 64th birthday of 'Mukaddar ka Sikandar' a memorable one. The painting exhibition started at Nirala Sabhagar, Delegacy, Allahabad University on Wednesday. In 'Different moods of Amitabh', Shambhu Prasad Singh from Varanasi portrayed variable moods of the millennium superstar Amitabh Bachchan.
The larger than life image of Big B was captured by an artist on 64 canvases to make the 64th birthday of 'Mukaddar ka Sikandar' a memorable one.
The painting exhibition started at Nirala Sabhagar, Delegacy, Allahabad University on Wednesday.
In 'Different moods of Amitabh', Shambhu Prasad Singh from Varanasi portrayed variable moods of the millennium superstar Amitabh Bachchan. It is the 64th series of paintings on Amitabh Bachchan by Singh who has already done almost 10,000 paintings based on his favourite movie star.
Colour pencils, water colours, oil paint, pencils and collages have been used by the artist to give shape to his expressions. "Various movies of Amitabh inspired me to sketch his facial expressions and I have been painting for almost 28 years," said Singh.
Singh gifted a painting to Amitabh on his 62nd birthday at his bungalow 'Prateeksha' in Mumbai.
"I was often discouraged to take up painting as a career. This exhibition is also a message to the parents to let their child choose his/her profession," added Singh.
"Being the hometown of Big B, I started this exhibition from Allahabad. Now it will be held in Lucknow, Delhi, Nainital and Mumbai," he added. The exhibition which was inaugurated by Allahabad Medical Association president Dr AK Bansal will continue till October 15.
