Silence please

: Loud eating noises such as slurping and burping are very impolite. This can easily be qualified as the biggest sin of dining etiquette. If you get hiccups that are out of your control, drink water to calm yourself down.

2

Napkin manners

: Unfold your napkin and place it on your lap. When you are finished, place it loosely on the table, not on the plate, and never place your napkin on your chair. Also, do not bang the cutlery against the table or plates.

3

Chew first, talk later:

Do not talk with your mouth full. Chew with your mouth closed. Use a napkin to cover your mouth if you have a big bite in your mouth.

4

Excuse yourself:

Excuse yourself to visit the restroom. Wash your hands before returning to the dining room. If you cough, cover your mouth with your napkin to stop the spread of germs and muffle the noise. Talk gently while dining.

5

Do not prick:

Do not use a toothpick or apply makeup such as lipstick at the dining table. For any such thing it is better to visit the restroom instead.
