Game of Legends
This sports bar has four gaming sections that house board games such as chess and carom. While three of the sections are open to public, the fourth one can be booked exclusively for large groups. Common board games like Ludo, snakes and ladders can be played free of cost. Games like chess and carom cost Rs 200 for 45 minutes. When it comes to food, finger foods like honey chilly potatoes and stir fried chicken are popular here.

This café is mostly frequented by college students from the North Campus. Students can choose from Chess, Ludo, Snakes and ladders or Zenga blocks for two to three hours, free of cost. “As long as people order snacks or drinks along with it, we have no problem in them sitting for two to three hours and playing games. It adds to the fun,” says Varun Bansal, the owner. We recommend trying out their Cappuccino or the Columbian frappe. The also serve chill’m a’la pasta (Rs 205), nachos corn chaat (Rs 140). There’s a lounge for those wishing to relax.

Café Delhi Heights
Enter this European style café, and a book rack to your left stacks games like Pictionary, Scrabble, Zynga, UNO, Bar Games and Chess along with some books and magazines. The guests are free to pick up the game of their choice and play. The English music and a range of cold coffees like ice caramel cappuccino and frozen hot chocolate add to the experience.

Café Bel Cibo
Guests often walk in asking for board games at this Italian café. What’s famous in here are traditional games like Pictionary, Ludo, Scrabble, Battleship, Tambola and Taboo. Time-consuming games like chess and scrabble are often passed on from one set of customers to the next when they leave. There is also a quiz on food, current affairs and sports organised second Saturday of every month. Winners get freebies like dinner or discounts at the café. One can gorge on sandwiches, salads or coffee.

Undrgrnd Café
Popular with south campus students, this café in Satya Niketan has cute wooden chess boards for every table. It’s fairly crowded with college students flocking during 12 pm to 5 pm everyday. “It is fun to play an indoor game with friends during summers as it is not feasible to hangout much under the sun,” says Shamali Sen, a campus student who often hangs out with her friends at this place. While here, you can try out their special non-veg pizza (Rs 199), chocolate shakes (Rs 99 to 109) and delicious sandwiches.

Mind Café
Started early this year, Mind cafe in Gurgaon is India’s first International board gaming café. It has more than 300 board games to offer and houses popular word games like Pass the Bomb, I’m the Boss. They also have a travel game section that has interesting games like Ticket to ride. A highlight of this cafe is time based games. So if you don’t have much time at hand, you can go for their 15-minute card games like Halli Galli. For those who have longer to spare, we recommend Settlers of Catan. A game costs Rs 75 per person per hour, there are also attractive packages where you play for free if you order a drink and snack.
