HP to certify dhabas along highways

Himachal Pradesh has decided to launch a motivational scheme for certification and standardisation of 'dhabas'.

Himachal Pradesh Tourism Department has decided to launch a motivational scheme for certification and standardisation of +dhabas+ along major highways to offer good quality food at resonable cost in hygienic conditions.

State Tourism Minister G S Bali said the department would help the dhabas to maintain certain prescribed standards and also offer training to the staff under the scheme which was purely voluntary.

Certificates would be issued to the dhabas which conformed to the conditions laid down by the tourism department.

The department would conduct periodic audit of the certified dhabas and give suggestions for further improvement.
