Identify black sheep among sants

The brutal murder of Sant Gyaneshwar and seven of his disciples has stirred a hornet's nest. If the voice of Swami Hari Dayal Jyotishi, a sant from Hanumangarhi (Ayodhya) is heard by the top cop of the state, DGP Yash Pal Singh, the administration might do something to separate the real sants from the rest of the lot who despite being involved in criminal activities come here every year during Magh Mela in the guise of saints to fill up their coffers and cheat gullible devotees in the name of faith.

This saint from Hanumangarhi, who is also an excellent astrologer, has sent a letter to the DGP to identify real saints from the rest of the lot in the interest of the society.

To make things easier for the police Swami Hari Dayal has also provided to the DGP a list of all those saints who are actively involved in criminal activities.

Shamefully, many of these so-called saints carry rewards on their heads, said Swami Hari Dayal while talking to HT Allahabad Live in an exclusive interview. If a dacoit or a murderer shuns his past and becomes a saint there's nothing wrong about it. But this is with a rider, he says. Such a saint should be a saint in the real sense of the term and should pursue only saintly activities. But this isn't the reality, he claims.

There are dozens of Sadhus who despite being involved in crime pose here during the Magh Mela as saints and continue to pursue their criminal activities also.

This should come to an end from the next year. The beginning for something good has to be made and the coming Ardh Kumbh will be the right forum to begin it, said the saint.

This isn't all. Mahant Dharm Das representing Akhil Bhartiya Sri Panch Agni Akhara has proofs to substantiate the claims of Swami Hari Dayal.

Making a more shocking revelation he said there are saints who even accept supari killings. Many such deals are made in the Magh Mela and the cops don't even get a wind of it, he said.

Jagdish Das, Gyan Das,Tribhuwan Das, Prahlad Das, Upendra Das, are just a few names from the long list of so-called saints who are professional killers, he said.

The proof of their being active criminals can be found at various police stations in the State and the country.

Swami Hari Dayal said, he was working to get a 'smarika' which will carry the names of all the criminals in the garb of saints with a proof.
