IHF fouls Dhanraj Pillay
Pillay has been critical of coach Gerhard Rach. And that hasn't gone down well with officials.
For a team that is doing nothing much as far as on-field action goes, the Indian hockey team is definitely making news off it. If it's not one thing, it's another. And Dhanraj Pillay never seems to be too far from where the action's
happening.
At the moment, Pillay seems headed for another confrontation with the Indian Hockey Federation (IHF). The 36-year-old striker, who has had several skirmishes with the federation these last 10 years, seems to have rubbed the federation the wrong away again, this time over the column he is writing from here for the Hindustan Times.
Pillay has been very critical of coach Gerhard Rach and his tactics in his columns and has specifically questioned the need for a change in players' positions during the campaign here. And that has not gone down too well with officials.
They made polite enquiries about who is writing the column, expressed displeasure over "the tone of his writing" and even hinted that he might be asked to stop writing any further. This though, doesn't seem to have happened yet, offcially.
