The countdown has begun for the coveted International Indian Film Festival Awards [IIFA], to be held at Macau from June 11 to June 13. The much-awaited award function will see the who’s who of Bollywood and Hollywood marking their presence. HT City brings you first-hand information on what all is in store during IIFA weekend.

Jam-packed
The three-day film event will begin with a media briefing addressed by actor and IIFA ambassador Amitabh Bachchan, followed by the premiere of the first look of David Dhawan’s Do Knot Disturb.

On day two, Madhur Bhandarkar will reveal the first look of his latest film Jail, followed by a fashion show in the evening. This year, at least five designers including the likes of Rocky S, Manav Gangwani, Manish Malhotra and Anamika Khanna will be presenting their collections. Hrithik Roshan and Suzanne will walk the ramp for sister Farah Khan, while Sonam Kapoor will be the showstopper at Anamika Khanna’s show.

The last day will kickstart with a conversation with AR Rahman, followed by the grand ceremony.

Babes’ bash
From Bachchan bahu Aishwarya to B-town’s latest girl Anoushka Sharma, everyone’s performing on stage. “This year, IIFA will have first ever stage performances by Sushmita Sen and Sonam Kapoor. Amongst the seasoned stage performers there are Kareena Kapoor and Bipasha Basu,” says Sabbas Joseph, one of directors of Wizcraft and organisers of IIFA, adding, “Sonam’s Indo-western act is choreographed by Shiamak Davar and she will be performing with a troupe of 30 dancers.”

Foreign names at this year’s awards show include singer-songwriter Peter Andre, who is set to put up a rocking performance, and Chinese fashion designer Chris Chang, who will showcase his collection on the second day.
