Prachi Desai is loving all the attention that she’s getting after the success of Rock On!! “It is an amazing feeling. It’s definitely changed my life for the better,” she says. And she admits that offers are rolling in. “I’m getting a lot of offers but I’m in no rush to sign up for everything. I’m taking it slow.”

Trying to fit in
Prachi, who was in the city for the launch of the store Fashion & I, says she wasn’t awed by the male-dominated script. “It’s pretty clear that TV is female-centric while the film industry is male dominated. But I was still lucky to make such a debut. It’s not important how big the role is. What matters is whether you get noticed or not.” The only thing she had trouble with was the rock aspect. “I knew nothing about rock… and that hasn’t changed,” she says.

Ask her who she thought was the hottest of the four and she replies diplomatically, “Don’t ask me that. All of them are looking amazing.”

As for television, it seems to be a thing of the past for the 21-year-old who played the role of Bani in the popular soap, Kasamh Se. “I can’t predict the future but I’m just doing films for the moment.” And she doesn’t regret it. “The one thing I feel happy about is that I don’t have 20-year-old children anymore [like she had in the show]. I was really unhappy about that,” she says. But that’s not changed her relationship with her mentor, Ekta Kapoor. “She still guides me,” she says.

A little suggestion
She’s not too keen to join the “bold” bandwagon anytime soon. “I feel really uncomfortable with that kind [revealing scenes] of stuff,” says Prachi.

So what’s happening on the ‘love’ front? She is prompt enough to say that she is not seeing anyone for now but yes, she has few ‘suitable boys’ for her mentor, Ekta. “From TV, I would say someone like Ronit Roy or Ram Kapoor and from Bollywood, Karan Johar, since they are anyway linked most of the time,” she jokes.
