India draw with Argentina in men's hockey match

Argentina scored just seconds before the hooter to hold India 2-2 in their final Pool B match.

Last-minute blues continued to haunt India as Argentina scored just seconds before the hooter to hold the eight-time gold medallists 2-2 in their final Olympic Pool B men's hockey match on Monday.

The draw, however, was enough for India to have a chance to improve upon their performance in the Sydney Games four years back where they had finished seventh.

They will now play for 5-8 places classification matches after finishing the five-match league engagements in fourth place with four points, ahead of South Africa and Argentina.

The fourth-place finish means they will play the third place holder in pool A, Pakistan, in their classification match on Wednesday.
