Indian bank unions call for strike on March 9

Employees of public and private sector banks in the country are likely to go on strike on March 9 demanding restoration of jobs for family members of staff who die while in service.

State-run Corporation Bank said in a notice that the United Forum of Bank Unions, which represents nearly 95 per cent of bank and insurance workers, had called for the strike.
