Indian in top US school's Hall of Fame

Assam's Nandini Das at the reputed South Dakota School of Mines and Technology at Rapid City has been inducted to the school's Leadership Hall of Fame.
Nandini Borah Das, who has just completed her Master's degree in civil engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, thus has become the first Indian to join this august gathering of the prestigious Leadership Hall of Fame award.
The Leadership Hall of Fame is bestowed to students, who, during their stint at the school displayed outstanding leadership qualities and contribute effectively to campus leadership. A photograph of Das, who originally comes from Assam, is now displayed at the school's Hall of Fame.
Talking to the HindustanTimes.com, Das said: "I was thrilled after receiving the award. I felt very proud as no Indian has got this before."
Das was an architect back home and worked at a remote sensing institute in India before deciding to shift to the US along with her husband Chandan Das, who recently obtained his Ph.D for his dissertation, "Role of Conservation Management Practices on Regional Sediment Loading" in Water Resources from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
