Indian woman commits suicide in Manama

Dubai, Aug 23 (PTI) An Indian woman, working as a housemaid, has allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in Manama.
Ramanna Jayamangala, 39, hailing from Andhra Pradesh, was reportedly upset over an affair with a man in Saudi Arabia, media reports quoting her sister said.
She had run away from her family in India an year ago.
Meanwhile, the fate of another Indian housemaid who filed a case against her Bahraini sponsor for alleged assault, breach of contract and unpaid salary, is still uncertain.
Sajitha Beevi, 30, who has been under the custody of the Indian Embassy since July 25, is waiting for legal proceedings to begin.
The woman has been provided with a temporary accommodation by the Migrant Workers' Protection Society (MWPS).
An embassy spokeswoman confirmed that the her case would not be closed until an agreement is reached with the sponsor.
