He directed the concerned forest officials to investigate into the death at the earliest.

According to sources, Joshi rushed from Nagpur to the spot where the leopard and her cubs had died. The area falls between Mohapur and Digadi villages in the Mahur Forest Range, 35 kms away from Fulsavangi village in Yavatmal district.

He inquired about the sudden death of the three leopards and held a meeting with senior forest officers and employees.

Preliminary reports indicate that the leopards died of food poisoning. Forest officers have not been able to track down the culprits.
