The supplementary charge sheet, which will focus on the conspiracy behind the encounter found to be allegedly fake in the CBI probe, may name as accused a few Intelligence Bureau officials including a retired senior official, according to a CBI source.

The source also stated that the charge sheet may mention the agency findings related to the fact that "a few public servants had been asked in November 2011 to monitor the Ishrat encounter probe of the court-appointed special investigation team".

The agency is also examining the alleged role of the then Gujarat state home minister Amit Shah.

"We are ascertaining his role to see if there was any criminality involved and if there is evidence to prove the same," said the source. The CBI's July charge sheet had alleged that IPS officer DG Vanzara had claimed to have kept a few then senior government authorities in the loop.
