Islam ends Vijay’s run in srf matchplay

Mohd Islam hogged the limelight in the second round of the SRF All India Professional Matchplay Championship as he derailed fourth seed Vijay Kumar's campaign with a 1 Up victory at the Delhi Golf Club.
Top contenders Gaurav Ghei, Ashok Kumar and Shamim Khan kept their hopes alive by moving to the pre-quarter finals.
While Ghei eased past Vikrant Chopra 4 & 3, Ashok defeated Ranjit Singh Rathore 3 & 2. Shamim beat Toran Bikram Shahi 2 & 1.
In the closest match of the day, Randhir Singh Ghotra triumphed over Sanjay Kumar at the 22nd hole.
R Srinivas prevailed over Shaurya Singh, the giant-killer from round one, at the 19th hole.
