You need very specialised, technical skills to enter the field. These may vary for each sub-sector. To enter the software segment, you need a sound knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C, C++, Visual Basic, .NET, while to enter the information security sector, one needs to know programming languages as well as gain an understanding of how data is managed and transferred over computer networks.
