J&K: 2 cops killed in Pulwana encounter

A police personnel and a militant have been killed in an ongoing encounter in Pulwama district in South of Kashmir.

A police personnel and a militant have been killed in an ongoing encounter in Pulwama district in South of Kashmir.

Two other security personnel were injured in an encounter with militants. The slain constable has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad.

The encounter took place at minidora village in Tral during a counter-insurgency operation launched by the security forces. According to police spokesman, the operation was launched following a specific information about presence of militants in the area.

Sources say, three militants are trapped in a residential house in the area. The operation is being jointly conducted by Jammu and Kashmir.

One local militant Shahnawaz Ahmad of Dadasara tral has also been reportedly killed in the encounter.

Besides, 3 other security personel, SI Jaswant Singh, constable Manoj Kumar, constable Manzoor Ahmed have been injured.

According to reports gunfire is still on in the area.
