"In a historic step to give justice to these refugees, we have given land rights to refugees of Gaddigarh and Bhour camp in jammu city today," Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla said a a function organised here this evening.
"It was Deepawali gift to the refugees, who have been fighting from pillar to post decades," Bhalla said.
The Minister revealed that the government has also increased the compensation for rural area beneficiaries from Rs 5000 kanal to Rs 1.5 kanal and Rs 25000 per family to Rs 2 lakh.
He said that the coalition government is making tireless efforts to regularise other colonies in the state by providing all basic amenities to people.
