J&K official falls from hotel's top storey, dies

The Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday started an investigation into the death of a senior officer who died after falling from the top storey of a Srinagar hotel.

The Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday started an investigation into the death of a senior officer who died after falling from the top storey of a Srinagar hotel.

According to a police spokesman, a Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS) officer, Ajesh Kumar, a resident of Kishtwar, posted as registrar co-operatives, slipped and fell from the upper storey of Hotel Heemal at Dalgate area. He was putting up in the hotel.

“Kumar was seriously injured in the accident and was shifted to the SKIMS hospital where he succumbed to his injuries,” said the spokesman.

The police have initiated an inquest proceeding under Section 174 of the CrPC.
