The protest was held near Nanak Nagar Gurudwara and the demonstrators raised slogans against the Uttar Pradesh government.

Harmohinder Singh, president of Jammu and Kashmir Sikh Council said, "We condemn Saharanpur's incident, tiff between the two communities is a result of a conspiracy and the culprit behind it should be revealed. We appeal to both the communities to maintain communal peace.

On Saturday morning, violent clashes had erupted in Saharanpur amongst two groups who reportedly clashed over a patch of disputed land close to the city's railway station.

Yesterday, Sikh protesters had taken to the streets in New Delhi, terming the clashes in Saharanpur as a conspiracy against the minorities.

District magistrate of Saharanpur, Sandhya Tiwari, had yesterday indicated that the situation in the area was returning towards normalcy and claimed no new instance of violence had occurred since it all started on Saturday.
