Jawan injured in accidental fire in Udhampur

A jawan was injured when his service rifle accidentally went off in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, police officials said today.

A jawan was injured when his service rifle accidentally went off in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, police officials said on Friday.

Jatinder Singh of Agra, a Rashtriya Rifle jawan, was hit by a bullet when his rifle accidentally went off in Rai Chak forest belt in Basantgarh during a search and cordon operation in Udhampur district late last night, they said.

He was rushed to the Udhampur hospital soon after and he is currently said to be out danger.
