AIADMK General Secretary Jayalalithaa on Sunday asked her party workers to get ready for a "political war" with ruling DMK in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

"During the DMK rule, people were suffering due to price hike, unannounced power-cuts and deteriorating law and order situation," she told reporters after attending the marriage functions of senior party leaders O Pannerselvam's and D Jayakumar's sons in Chennai.

"This is the right time for all of us to take up a political war against the DMK and the coming elections is an opportunity for us to dethrone it," she added.

Jayalalithaa also advised her cadre to be patient for getting party posts.
