Rajya Sabha member Jaya Bachchan on Tuesday waved a torn Rs 500 note in the House, saying banks were not willing to exchange it.

When Bachchan raised the issue, Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat quipped "give it to me. I will get it exchanged."

When the Samajwadi Party member started displaying it in the House, the chairman asked her to keep it with her.

"I will keep it for display in the Central Hall of Parliament," Bachchan said.
