Some party activists were elated after handing over their representations but many were disappointed as she left after an hour.

More than 10,000 party cadres thronged the office since morning even from far off places like Tirunelveli and Nagercoil.

Jayalalithaa received a few petitions and then left the office suddenly.

With only one gate being used for entry and exit, the security personnel had a tough time in controlling the crowd, who were eager to meet their "puratchi thalaivi amma." (Revolutionary leader)
