Jessica case: HC dismisses Ramani's plea

Delhi High Court on Friday dismissed an application by Bina Ramani, entrepreneur and a key witness in the Jessica Lall murder case.
Ramani was seeking quashing of a look-out notice issued against her by the Delhi Police earlier this month.
Judge Vikramjit Sen dismissed her application when Mukta Gupta, standing counsel of the Delhi government, submitted that there was an allegation of destruction of evidence against Ramani in the murder case.
Gupta submitted if Ramani's plea was allowed to dismiss the notice and she was permitted to go abroad there was an apprehension that she might not return.
Bailable warrants for all nine accused in the 1999 murder of Lall were issued on Wednesday by the high court after it admitted a police appeal against their acquittal.
Manu Sharma, son of Haryana minister Venod Sharma, allegedly shot Lall April 29, 1999, when she refused to serve him a drink during a party at Tamrind Court restaurant in south Delhi where she was filling in as a bartender.
The restaurant owned by Bina Ramani did not have a liquor licence.
