Jharkhand minister attacked, suffers head injury
Jharkhand Land and Revenue minister Madhu Singh was on Thursday injured when alleged CPI(ML-liberation) supporters attacked him at Panki in Palamu district, superintendent of police Murarilal Meena said.
The attackers pelted stones and opened fire at the minister, who was taking a walk in his native Panki area with his nephew and supporters, the SP said.
While the minister sustained head injury, his nephew received bullet wounds, Meena said.
The minister, also a Janata Dal (United) leader, was hit by a stone and shifted to the nearest dispensary, the SP said.
Singh's body guard returned the fire but it was not clear whether anybody suffered injury on the other side.
