The failure in sharing seats among the coalition partners in the Arjun Munda -led NDA for Lok Sabha polls in Jharkhand has exposed the BJP's oft-repeated assertion of running a coalition without hindrance, claimed the state Opposition leaders.

"How can the people have confidence in the coalition after all three constituents are vying against each other in some seats after the BJP refused to allot even a single seat to others, "Congress spokesman Sailesh Sinha said.

He was reacting to JD(U)'s decision to allow assembly speaker Inder Singh Namdhari and four others to contest against the BJP candidates despite being in the government.

He said that the JD(U) and the AJSU (contesting from four seats) could have instilled confidence among the electorate had they pulled out from the government and contested.

The opposition leader in the Jharkhand assembly, Stephen Marandi said'it has always been blackmail politics among the NDA partners in the state. The JD)U) has fielded candidates out of frustration and in the hope of getting anti-BJP votes.

The CPI(ML) central committee member and legislator , Mahendra Singh said it is an opportunistic alliance in the state.

The state unit general secretary of the CPI(M) J S Majumdar wondered what would be the issues of the coalition partners during campaigning.

"Their understanding was based on political expediency and not on political reasoning,"Mazumdar said adding this had to happen as the government was created hurriedly after the bifurcation of Bihar more than three years ago.
