FORMER CHIEF Minister of Madhya Pradesh Uma Bharti has said a nice personality like Mohammed Ali Jinnah had taken part in the struggle for independence along with Mahatma Gandhi but later he only took the country to the verge of partition and this partition became a cause for pain for us.

Aiming at senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Lal Krishna Advani, the expelled Bharatiya Janata Party leader Uma Bharti said while the Pokharan explosion by the then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee became a mater of pride for the country, Lal Krishna Advani went to Pakistan and bowed his head at Jinnah’s grave. So we shall now have to take back the country to its heights of glory together, she said.

She said the Bharatiya Janata Party had strayed from its basic ideology. Rama was the country’s pride while Roti was the country’s need, so we had taken the resolve to fulfil the need for Swabhimaan (self-respect), Suraksha (security), Swadeshi, Shuchita (sanctity) and Swaraj (self-rule).
