JPP, AJSU (Mahato) faction release list of candidates

A list of seven candidates of Jharkhand People's Party (JPP) and all Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU-Mahato faction), who will contest the forthcoming Parliamentary poll in Jharkhand, was released on March 16.

Alist of seven candidates of Jharkhand People's Party (JPP) and all Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU-Mahato faction), who will contest the forthcoming Parliamentary poll in Jharkhand, was released on March 16.

JPP and AJSU (Sudesh Mahato Faction) agreed to contest the forthcoming poll on mutual understanding reached at a meeting held in ranchi recently, JPP president Surya Singh Besra said.

Talking to newsmen, Besra said while the JPP will field its candidate in six parliamentary seats in Jharkhand, AJSU will contest only from Singhbhum (reserved) contituency in West Singhbhum.

Releasing the names of the candidates, Besra said the JPP will field Mukesh Baba from Ranchi, Vimal Kashyap from Lohardaga, Prem Chand Kisku (Dumka seat), Manoj Soren (Rajmahal) and Ajay Verma (Dhanbad) while AJSU's Sukharam Oraon will contest for Singhbhum seat. He said he will be the JPP candidate for Jamshedpur seat.

Besides, the JPP and AJSU have decided to support Jharkhand Party (Horo) chief NE Horo from Khunti and Jharkhand Vikas Dal supremo Suraj Mandal from Godda, he said.

He said option for Giridih, Hazaribagh, Chatra, Koderma and Palamu seats have been kept open for like-minded secular parties willing to contest the poll in the alliance of JPP-AJSU.
