Judiciary to probe coal mine incidents

The government is considering a proposal to institute judicial enquiries into coal mine accidents in the country.

The government is considering a proposal to institute judicial enquiries into coal mine accidents in the country.

Currently, such accidents are probed by the Directorate General of Mines Safety.

This was revealed by Minister of State for Coal Dasari Narayan Rao while responding to a calling attention motion on the accident at Bhatdih colliery of BCCL in which 50 miners died.
