Karnataka government felicitates Bopanna

Indian tennis player Rohan Bopanna was Wednesday felicitated by the Karnataka government for his outstanding performance at the just concluded Wimbledon championships.

Indian tennis player Rohan Bopanna was Wednesday felicitated by the Karnataka government for his outstanding performance at the just concluded Wimbledon championships.

Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yedurappa felicitated Bopanna at a ceremony held at the Vidhana Soudha here for reaching the men's doubles quarterfinals in the Wimbledon for the first time in his career along with Pakistani partner Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi.

By virtue of the good showing, the Indian Davis Cupper has also achieved his career-best ranking of 38 in the doubles and was

"I am extremely grateful to the Government of Karnataka for this honour. It is a very humbling experience when you are complemented for your hard work and achievements in your own country. I am sure with the backing and support of the government, I can accomplish my professional dreams," Bopanna said on the occasion.
