Karntaka government ordered judicial into attacks on churches and communal violence erupted in parts of the state.

Karntaka government on 19 september ordered a judicial probe into attacks on churches and the subsequent communal violence that erupted in parts of the state.

The judicial probe will be headed by a retired high court judge, said Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa after inaugurating a development project in Ankola in Uttara Kannada district.

On 18 spetember the state government had decided on a COD probe. However, the opposition had been insisting on a judicial probe into the incident.
