Karunanidhi leaves for New Delhi

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today left for New Delhi by an Indian Airlines flight to attend to various official and political engagements.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on Sunday left for New Delhi by an Indian Airlines flight to attend to various official and political engagements.

During his two-day stay in the national capital, he would meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and discuss a host of issues including that of Sri Lankan Tamils.

He would also meet Planning Commission officials to finalise the state's annual plan outlay, official sources said.

Karunanidhi will also meet President Pratibha Patil and invite her for the inauguration ceremony of the next month's World Tamil Conference at Coimbatore, the sources said.
