Various organisations of Kashmiri pandits participated in the demonstration and threatened to intensify the agitation if their demands were not met.

"We demand the land be restored to the shrine board immediately. Besides, the Governor, whose role has been dubious in the entire episode, should be recalled," said A N Dhar, president of Kashmir Samiti's Delhi unit.

He alleged that some political parties were trying to take mileage out of the issue. "When the Haj committees are allowed to manage their properties, what is the problem in handing over the land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) and allow it to manage it?"

Jammu Kashmir United National Front leader PL Razdan said that the agitation would continue in the capital till the land is given back to the SASB.
