Kaynat-e-Najm released

THE LATEST book of Canadian poet of Indian origin, Dr Taqi Abidi, titled ‘Kaynat-e-Najm’ was released by Prof Janak Pandey of Allahabad University at a glittering function at Vizianagaram hall, Faculty of Science, AU.

Justice Barkat Ali Zaidi of the Allahabad High Court was the chief guest while former head of the Department of Urdu, AU, Prof SM Aquil Rizwi, presided over the function.

Renowned Urdu writer Prof Shamsur Rahman Farooqi and Prof Ali Ahmad Fatimi were the chief orators.

Speaking on the occasion, Justice Zaidi said literary interest of the masses was on the decline these days. Under these circumstances, Dr Taqi Abidi must be praised for his continuous research work.

Dr Abidi said this was his 15th research book and was divided in two parts. The volumes included 195 ghazals, 596 rubaiyat, 485 quataat, 106 salaams, 4 marciyas and 144 nawhas.

In these books, Dr Abidi has collected the poems related to farmers, labourers and patriots.

Prof Pandey specially praised the poems ‘Qaidi ka Raag’ and ‘Mazdoor ki Awaaz’.
Earlier, Dr Fazil Hashmi, who conducted the programme, welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries at the function.

Among those present on the occasion included Prof Fazle Imam Rizvi, Prof Abdul Hamid, Prof Raza Hasnain, Prof Atiya Nishat, Prof Ali Ahmad Fatimi, Prof Naushaba Sardar, Dr Shabnam Hamid, Sayyed Azadar Hussain, Dr Fakhrul Karim, Dr Aslam Allahabadi, Ramz Allahabadi, Ahmad Hasnain, Zafar Abbas, Farman Naqvi, Baqar Naqvi and others.

A 30-minute mushaira was also organized on the occasion, which was conducted by Najib Allahabadi.
