The call to Raj Bhavan last night came hours after Gavai had given sanction for the CBI to prosecute ruling CPI-M state Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan in the SNC Lavalin corruption case, overruling the LDF cabinet recommendation against it.

The caller spoke in Malayalam, police said.

A complaint was lodged with the Museum police station.

Using details in the caller ID which recorded a 11-digit phone number, police said it found the call was made from a Gulf country.
