Kerala HC declines to order CBI probe in Marad carnage

The Kerala High court made it clear that it will not order CBI investigation into the conspiracy part of the Marad carnage which claimed eight lives in 2003.

The Kerala High court on Wednesday made it clear that it will not order CBI investigation into the conspiracy part of the Marad carnage which claimed eight lives in 2003.

However, a Division Bench, comprising Acting Chief Justice J B Koshy and Justice P Bhavadasan made it clear that the orders of the High Court will not prevent the government from proceeding with their desire to have a CBI probe.

The bench's observations were made while disposing of a petition by the Peoples forum for Natural Justice and T Shyamala of Marad seeking CBI investigation into the case.
